Ivica Smojver is Head of Chair of Aircraft Structures at Department of Aeronautical Engineering, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture, University of Zagreb (FMENA).
Scientific interests in the application of finite elements in the analysis of composite aircraft structures; impact damage /failure analysis of aircraft structures; application of multiscale methods in damage analysis of composite aeronautical structures. Teaches various subjects in the field of aircraft structures, composite structures and rocket technology at various studies of University of Zagreb.
Leader of project „Numerical Modelling of Damage in Aeronautical Structures“ in collaboration with Croatia Airlines (2007-2009) and participant in the FP7 project AirTN. National representative in the Programme Committee of Horizon 2020 for Transport /Aeronautics; in the Clean Sky 2 JTI States Representatives Group; Co-Chairman of the Advisory Council for Aviation Research and Innovation in Europe – Member States Group (ACARE – MSG). Member of ACARE Strategy and Integration Board. Member of AIAA, Croatian Society of Mechanics and Central European Association of Computational Mechanics.
